Liberation & Legacy: 2026 Job Liberation Summit
Tomorrow is a significant day on the calendar. March 10 marks Harriet Tubman Day, a time when we honor the woman who redefined what it means to lead, to risk, and to achieve true liberation. It is no coincidence that this is the same day we open the doors for the 2026 Job Liberation Virtual Summit for Black Women™.
At Beyond Existing Enterprises, we talk a lot about building structures that last. We focus on compliance, sustainability, and fractional leadership. But the foundation of any great endeavor: whether it is a nonprofit, a small business, or a career pivot: is a person who is operating from a place of freedom rather than fear. You cannot build a legacy while you are suffocating in a toxic environment. You cannot lead a movement if your nervous system is stuck in survival mode.
That is why I am so excited to share this summit with you. This is not just another webinar or a standard professional development series. This is a space designed specifically for Black women to map out their exit strategies, reclaim their well-being, and imagine a future where work actually works for them.
The Spirit of March 10th
When Harriet Tubman made her way to freedom, she didn't just stay there. She became a conductor. She understood that liberation is a collective act. In our modern context, many Black women find themselves trapped in different kinds of "plantations": work environments that drain their spirit, ignore their contributions, and compromise their health.
Choosing to leave a toxic job or a misaligned career path is a radical act of self-care. It is a decision to stop just existing and start truly living. The Job Liberation Virtual Summit is the "underground railroad" for the professional world. It provides the tools, the community, and the maps needed to navigate the journey from a place of burnout to a place of brilliance.
Why This Summit Matters Right Now
The data tells a story we already know by heart. Black women are often the most educated and most ambitious group in the workforce, yet they consistently face the highest levels of workplace stress, microaggressions, and pay inequity. Over time, this takes a toll. It affects your physical health, your mental clarity, and your ability to show up for your family and your community.
I see this often in my work as a consultant and professor. I meet brilliant "Builder Founders" who have amazing ideas for community impact, but they are trying to build those dreams on the weekends because their 9-to-5 is sucking the life out of them.
The 2026 Job Liberation Virtual Summit, now in its third year, addresses these issues head-on. Co-hosted by Dr. Kimani Norrington Sands and Marissa Price, this event is built on the expertise of Black women who have been there. Dr. Kimani, a licensed clinical psychologist and toxic job survivor, brings a deep understanding of the psychological impact of toxic work environments. Marissa Price brings the strategic insight needed to navigate these transitions.
What You Can Expect
This is a three-day virtual experience happening from May 1–3, 2026. The summit is structured to move you from the "thinking" phase into the "acting" phase. It isn't just about venting about a bad boss; it is about building a bridge to your next chapter.
Healing and the Nervous System
You can't think clearly when you are in "fight or flight" mode. One of the core pillars of this summit is healing. Attendees will explore how to regulate their nervous systems after years of workplace trauma. This is essential work. If you don't heal from the last job, you will carry those wounds into your next venture.
Strategic Exit Planning
Leaving a job requires more than just a "quit" notice. You need a plan. The summit covers practical tools for exit strategies, ensuring that when you walk away, you do so with your finances, your reputation, and your peace of mind intact.
Entrepreneurship and Career Pivots
For many of us, the path to liberation leads to entrepreneurship. Whether you are looking to launch a nonprofit or start a consulting firm, you will find sessions dedicated to aligned business growth. We want to help you build something that doesn't just replace your income, but honors your values.
Join the Movement
The official launch happens tomorrow, March 10. This is the best time to get involved because it kicks off the Early Bird ticket window. From March 10 through March 31, you can secure your spot at the most accessible rate.

The Beyond Existing Connection
You might wonder why a business consulting firm is championing a job liberation summit. The answer is simple: Beyond Existing Enterprises is about more than just paperwork and compliance. We are about the people who hold the power within those systems.
We believe that when Black women are liberated from toxic structures, they are free to build the organizations our communities desperately need. We want you to be in a position where you can lead with clarity. If you are currently in a transition and realize your organization needs stronger leadership or a clear roadmap for growth, we are here to help.
If you are a founder who has already taken the leap and you find yourself overwhelmed by the "doing," it might be time to look at fractional leadership. You don't have to do it all alone. You can hire the expertise you need to keep your mission moving while you focus on your well-being.

Creating a New Legacy
Liberation is not just about leaving something behind; it is about what you are moving toward. It is about creating a legacy that isn't defined by how much you suffered, but by how much you thrived.
The stories we tell ourselves about work are changing. We no longer accept that "the grind" is a requirement for success. We are realizing that our health is our greatest wealth and that our talents deserve to be nurtured, not exploited.
Representative Stories of Liberation
To give you an idea of the impact this summit has had, here are some representative experiences based on the feedback from previous years:
- One attendee, a senior director at a large nonprofit, realized that her physical symptoms: migraines and insomnia: were directly linked to her office culture. Through the summit, she found the courage to map out a six-month exit plan and has since launched her own successful consultancy.
- Another participant shared that the sessions on financial planning gave her the "freedom fund" blueprint she needed to leave a toxic corporate role without the fear of immediate financial ruin.
- Many women have reported that the community they found at the summit was the first place they felt truly understood and validated in their professional experiences.
