Christ Humanity and Ministry

I am not an avid movie watcher so rarely am I the one who sees a lot of movies. For example, after church I caught the end of the movie “Chocolat” while channel surfing. Thus, this is not a review of the entire movie, but a thought about the Easter sermon of the priest. The sermon text is as follows:

Pere Henri's (the young priest) Easter Sermon“I’m not sure what today’s theme [Easter] should be. Do I want to speak of the miracle of our Lord’s divine transformation? Not really, no. I don’t want to talk about his divinity. I’d rather talk about his humanity - how he lived his life here on Earth - his kindness, his tolerance…. Here’s what I think. We can’t go around measuring our goodness by what we don’t do - what we deny ourselves, what we resist and who we exclude. I think we’ve got to measure our goodness by what we embrace, what we create, and who we include.”

Does your ministry reflect this assessment of Christ’s humanity? Have you been in existence so long that the object is to keep the building open for “our” people with no thought of the dying world outside? Do most of your activities keep the clique together or is it to make disciples?
