So you've been around 100 years...Now what?!

According to Godin, "People yearn for change, they relish being part of a movement, and they talk about things that are remarkable, not boring."  Later he wrote  " New rule: If you want to grow, you need to find customers (or in our case members) who are willing to join you or believe in you or donate to you or support you. And guess what?  The only customers willing to do that are looking for something new (or fresh).  The growth comes from change and light and noise."Now we Church folk don’t like a lot of change.  However, the only change we are seeing in many of our churches is the exodus of members.  To make the change is not getting rid of the Word of God.  God already said that the word  will never change.  It does cause us to look at our organization and decide if what we do feed our people.  If your organization only claim to fame is that you survived (I mean celebrating) 30, 50, 100 years of existence ; it is time to find a new claim.  People are not interested in you surviving, but reviving.Godin used Toyota as an example.  They took old technology and developed the Prius.  Many were not interested in a hybrid car, but now their competitors are clamoring to get their hybrids to the market.  We have some great technology that has been out for centuries called the Gospel.  If it presented in a way to excites people, they will come.  Let’s make some noise out there.
